Wind Wolves Preserve is one of the many beautiful wildland areas in California that are now under the care of The Wildlands Conservancy. It's located above the San Joaquin Valley about 40 miles south of Bakersfield. I love visiting the area especially in the Spring. If the rains visit the Preserve during the Winter there will be green hills of grass and wildflowers, for just a few weeks in Spring, providing some really great photo ops. And maybe you'll see the "wind wolves" as they run and play in waves of grass blowing in the wind.
