Oahu is the island made famous by Waikiki, Honolulu, and Pearl Harbor. Oahu has a population of roughly one million people. It is home to about two-thirds of the population of the U. S. state of Hawaii. There are still a lot of areas on the north end where you can see places in Oahu in it's more natural state. In Waimea Falls and Botanical Gardens there is a beautiful one mile walk up a paved trail in Waimea Canyon that ends at Waimea Falls. And there are some beautiful beaches' especially in the North Shore area famous for big wave surfing at Sunset Beach. There are some fantastic beaches in Kailua. The views of the nearby Ko'olau Mountains are fantastic. And on the westernmost tip of Oahu, is Ka'ena Pt State Park and Natural Area Reserve. There is a very scenic five mile long coastal trail and in a fenced in natural reserve you can visit and see the nesting grounds of the Laysan albatross. On the rocky shore you might see a Hawaiian monk seal sunbathing. There's a lot to see and and do on Oahu, the Gathering Place Island.
