Onion Valley is located above Independence, California. It's a beautiful spot in the Eastern Sierra Nevada and easy to get to on a pretty decent paved but steep road. And it's up there at 9200 feet elevation. This particular day in late October it was beautiful but cold and a bit windy as a cold front moved through.
