Located in California's spectacular and very photogenic Eastern Sierra Mountain Range, Mono Lake is an ancient lake. The lake is over one million years old and it's very large, covering about 65 square miles.

The tufa towers, calcium-carbonate spires and knobs attract lots of photographers. I visited the lake in October of 2011 at South Tufa Towers viewpoint and I was not disappointed!
